Modification Name: Admin./Mod. Log

Description: Allows administrators to log all actions taken by secondary administrators and moderators.

Status/Availablity: There is a downloadable version of this modification which can be reviewed here.

Additional Notes: Apparently the version linked to above still has some mySQL bugs among other things.

Additional Notes: The linked version above adds an entry field to the administration panel for determining the time-frame. The last update was on 1/7/06.

Modification Name: Page Title vs. Site Name

Description: Allows administrators to differentiate between the Page Title (e.g. what appears in the browser heading and the ForumWise index) and the Site Name (e.g. what appears at the top of the individual forum index).

Status/Availability: There is no known modification to achieve this functionality.

Additional Notes: It has been requested that the Site Name entry field allow several options, i.e. 1) text title, 2) graphical banner or 3) none.

Description: Notifies administrators of threads that have been inactive for a defined length of time (to be determined by the administrator) for archiving purposes.

Status/Availability: There is a version of this modification under development which can be reviewed here.

Additional Notes: The linked modification was originally intended to be fully automatic, but was abandoned by the original developer. Full automation is not desired for the present request.

Modification Name: 'Permissions' in Forum Creation Panel

Description: Allows administrators to set the permission level of a forum at the time of creation from the forum creation panel.

Status/Availability: There is no known modification available to achieve this functionality.

Additional Notes: It has been suggested that a simple drop-down menu be included in the forum creation panel with the traditional options, i.e. "Admin", "Mod", "Private" and "Reg".

Modification Name: Custom 'Board Unavailable' Display

Description: Allows administrators to replace the default text on the 'Board Unavailable' display with something of their choice.

Additional Notes: It has been suggested that this modification be made in conjunction with a related feature, Disable Board Admin Override, which would allow administrators to view the forum while it is disabled to members and guests. There is a beta-version which can be reviewed here and a released version which can be viewed here.

Description: Adds a detailed 24-hour listing to the 'Who's Online' section on the Main Forum Index.

Status/Availability: There is a downloadable BETA version of this modification which can be reviewed here.

Additional Notes: This modification requires two template changes (index_body.tpl and overall_footer.tpl.). Also, it would need to be completely reworked if it were to display on the portal.

This hack adds a new field in user management in the admin control panel. This field is "user can post" and it allows you to select yes or no. This will allow you to disable the ability for each individual user to post (or edit their messages(, but still allow them to see posts, send and get private messages.
